Disclaimer
Right off the bat let’s be clear: I am not a doctor. I do not diagnose PTSD. I do not treat PTSD. I do not suggest I have the power to heal your PTSD. (No matter what anybody says, only YOU have the power to do that.) My role as a PTSD Advocate and Self-Empowered Healing Coach is only to help you summon up, develop and expand your power and courage while you face what needs to be faced and do what needs to be done in order to conquer the past and create the future. My job in a nutshell: to help you tap your healing potential. That’s it, plain and simple. Working to heal PTSD is so much easier when you feel powerful instead of powerless.
So, from this moment going forward please remember: I am not medically or psychologically trained in any way that would be licensed by the state. While I am fully certified in the methods I use, I do not do the things conventional doctors do because I am not one, obviously. It’s too bad that I even have to put up a page like this but, occasionally, I get the angry email from some uninformed person who either wants everyone to be as miserable as he is, or who has been unable to professionally help anyone feel better and doesn’t want to believe such a goal as living without post-traumatic stress symptoms is possible. It’s for just this reason that I have legal counsel that provides me with appropriate advice on this very matter.
Conventional medicine and psychiatric practice both have a very good place in the healing of PTSD and you should consult your clinical support team during your healing process. I, however, am not a member of that set. Do not come to me about medication, diagnosis, prognosis or any kind of specific request related to the clinical arena. Only come to me when you have reached the decision that you want to think outside of the conventional box. And also, when you feel that supplementing your clinical relationships with some help in developing your own personal power would be beneficial to your healing journey.
A good bit of the time, the anger and animosity I receive comes from people who are suffering without relief because conventional medicine hasn’t been able to relieve their symptoms, or relieve them as much as they would like. Or, it comes from professionals who, for reasons I can’t fathom, are dedicated to the idea that once you are broken you cannot be fixed. While I understand and appreciate the frustration in both scenarios, it still seems a shame for those people to wish to tear down any other avenue that actually might help support someone struggling with PTSD. That being said, if you don’t want to participate in the positive, nurturing, educational environment I am fostering on my website and with my internet postings, then I agree, please go your own way. Please.
When you take someone’s advice or align yourself with their perspective and way of thinking, you are likely to get similar results. If you don’t agree with my approach to reconstructing a life after trauma then surely, you shouldn’t listen to my thoughts or to any ideas put forth by people who have had similar successful experiences. If you do, you might find yourself getting the same positive results. And you wouldn’t want to be happier, now would you?
Finally, to wrap up, keep this in mind: you shouldn’t take any of my advice, or anyone’s advice, unless it rings true to you. Then, simply put it into your mind as a reference point of what is possible. What could happen. What might occur. After all, I suffered from PTSD for over 2 decades and then found a path of healing that finally worked for me. I am now happy, healthy, productive, and out helping others feel better. If this is what you deeply desire, believe is possible and are prepared to work hard for, then feel free to contact me and let’s see how together we might shift the balance of your power. If this is what you want but you do not believe you will ever achieve it, then let’s part ways right now because with that kind of attitude you’re right, you won’t even get close. And if the possibility of life being PTSD symptom-free is something you are hell bent on opposing, I respect your right to that belief even though I do not agree with it. I ask you to do the same for me.
As in many things in life, results can not be guaranteed. However, many people have found my approach to be refreshing and extremely beneficial. Please feel free to browse my testimonials page for actual client comments.
