Part of the PTSD problem is the sense of internal chaos and overwhelm. Trauma has already left you feeling powerless and helpless and then just coping through the day can become…. well…. exhausting!

    For so long I didn’t know what I want. I remember asking my mother what I liked to eat because pleasure was something I could only remember, not feel. But little by little I did regain that. Great questions, but I would say you need to be one step up the ladder before you can answer them.

      @Molly — That’s SO true! And I love your idea to get others involved in helping you figure out what you want. With PTSD we cope with so much our brains are cluttered with the energy and chaos of the past, which makes knowing what we want in the present a tough gig. You helped yourself moving forward by reaching out for support — brilliant!
