PTSD Healing Thought of the Week •
Engaging in PTSD recovery means you’re accepting the challenge of having no map and still trying to reach a far away destination. Good for you! That’s very brave.
Be kind to yourself if in the midst of that scenario you feel fear – that’s actually a good thing.
Baruch Spinoza said,
Fear cannot be without hope nor hope without fear.
Fear means you are hoping for something. Hope is a fundamental element in recovery. So whenever you feel fear ask yourself, ‘What am I hoping for?’ And then, focus on what you’re hoping. Train all of your thoughts there. Focus so much there, in fact, that all other thoughts cease to exist in that moment… even the fearful ones.
You have enormous healing potential. The goal is learning to access it.Dig deep. You can do this. I believe in you!
