PTSD Healing Thought of the Week: Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.

Sunday, April 10th, 2011 • PTSD Healing Thought of the Week

I know there are days that you feel what you are attempting to do in PTSD recovery is hopeless. Anyone working as hard as you are would have moments that you question if it’s worth it, and whether or not you’ll get where you’re trying toHelen Keller, PTSD, Healing Thought of the Week, Hope, Confidence go.

It’s only natural that you would sometimes be tempted to slip over the edge into dark pessimism….. Don’t do it!

You are not alone in your quest to do something strong, difficult and ultimately, heroic. Until you reach the end, you must believe – in yourself, the recovery process and the possibility of your final goal. Helen Keller said,

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.  Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

Hope. Confidence. Two things that are free and entirely within your control to summon. What would it take for you to bring them more into your thoughts? What’s one thing you can do today to make that happen?

You have enormous healing potential. The goal is learning to access it.

It is possible to conquer the past and create the future – the first step is choosing to take the journey.
