Treating PTSD: How To Find Your Joy
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 • Uncategorized •
A little bit of business first: Tonight I’m participating in a really great event: NotAlone.com hosts a weekly seminar group call about positive coping/self-care in PTSD recovery. I’ve been asked to be a guest speaker for the group to discuss the important role of identity in the healing PTSD process. If you’re a military spouse or vet please join us tonight at 7pm CST. For details, visit the Programs page of the Not Alone web site.
And now, it’s time to begin the ‘how’ of the subject of joy. As in, How do I find my joy?
For that, I’m offering you a short centering excercise. Before we can focus on how to bring joy more into your daily life it’s necessary to learn and/or remember how to access it at all.
So… Get comfortable. Click here for the exercise and let your mind do the work. When you’re all done leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
Now, get ready to enjoy this next step in the healing PTSD process. You deserve it. Your commitment to healing means you’ve earned it. Your desire to heal means you need it.

super awesome. have marked as favorite and plan to daily. took me a minute to even find a joyful thought. part of that a memory problem…but eventually hooked onto just a warm yellow glow…that worked great and i love taking a ball of it with me and then a string linking me back to being inside the glow!!
