A quote from Carl Jung:
A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them…. Whenever we give up, leave behind, and forget too much, there is always the danger that the things we have neglected will return with added force.
Is there any survivor who doesn’t know first-hand the truth of this statement??
All the more reason for us to pass through the inferno of our passion for the past – face it, remember it, deal with it and move forward so that it can no longer ‘return with added force’.
Sometimes, we must be burned by the power of our own mind before we learn to redirect its focus.
